This week’s WordPress photo challenge is hands. I’m showing Geraldine’s hands which I know I’ve put up before in color. This time I’m put it up in black and white. What I also did was play with cropping other images I have of people’s hands. Hope you enjoy the show. Just click on any one of the photos for a full size slide slow.

It’s that time of the week for Rois’s Wednesday Song Title Interpretation and this week her theme is Paparazzi. At first I didn’t think I had anything to offer since I don’t really photograph people, let alone famous people. And I avoid crowds at any cost. But ….. then I remembered a couple of things.
The one time I really felt like I was a Paparazzi was at an event for the Adaptive Riding Institute of Salem, as their photographer. The event was all about granting a senior a wish. And Geraldine wanted to ride a horse again. She had not been on a horse for over 45 years. Geraldine was a very young 93 year old. She walked on her own and stood on her own. Was extremely photographic. Her entire family was lots of generations. It was a sight to see. There were also newspaper photographers. So you really did have to fight to get a good spot for a photo. It was late in the afternoon late summer and the sun was as bright as ever. So photography outside was horrible. Everything got burned out. Although I got the photos of the day. While Geraldine was on the horse, I was standing in front of her and behind her was the stables. So with the bright sun the dark and wooden background turned black. I know I’ve posted a couple of them before, but just had to share them again.
The other couple of photos are very familiar paparazzi scenes that are familiar in the area I live. The flower gardens. Hope you ENJOY!!! As always scroll down to see larger version.

The My Parents Drugged Me! – Anonymous (see below) was initially found at both DiDi-licous blog and The Conservative Hillbilly blog and I’ve reblogged it here.
How many us are still hooked on being drugged by our parents (or anyone else)?
I know at times I still struggle with the being drugged. The most potent drug my parents instilled in me is that I’m not good at anything or I never stick to anything longer than a year. Even though I’ve been in a relationship for over 22 years. When I worked I stayed no less than 4 years, unless I was contracting. I’ve been in love with photography forever and serious now for five year. I’ve been practicing some kind of energy medicine for over ten years. I had my first car for 18 years. The list is endless. But yet there are times, I just can’t break that cycle.

I would love to recapture the innocence and wonder of children.
My Parents Drugged Me!
“The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question: “Why didn’t we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?”

Since there is no WordPress Weekly Photo challenge this week, I decided to have a special format for this Week’s Share Your World. There are two questions, and all you need do is answer one of them…or both.
- What are your 3 Favorites photographs? Explain why they are your favorite.
- If you are not a photographer, think of three favorite scenes in your life and tell us about them.
See my answers below.
NOTE: Click link to easily find Other Share Your World Week blog entries.
I will be putting out four different questions each week for you to answer. There are two ways which you can participate.
- Create a Share Your World post. Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” tag.
- Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.
I will state the questions first and then post my answers in the bottom part of my blog. I’ve also created a banner if you would like one for your blog.

Today I thought I would post some photographs from on of the cruises Chris and I have taken on the Sternwheeler on the Columbia Gorge. The Columbia Gorge is one of the most beautiful places here in the Pacific Northwest. The Columbia River separates the states of Washington and Oregon. We also went under the Bridge of the Gods. I hope you enjoy the show.

The Weekly Photo Challenge this week is family.
I had the privilege to photograph a very special outing for a wonderful lady named Geraldine. At 93 years old, she is the matriarch of her family and she had one of her wishes granted. To ride a horse again. Adaptive Riding Institute near Salem, Oregon granted her that wish. Her entire family came to watch.

I noticed some bloggers post the “how it works” section and I thought it was a good idea.
Here’s how it works:
1. Each week, we’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced.
2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use a “postaday2011″ or “postaweek2011″tag.
3. Subscribe to The Daily Post so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS.
