Theme Tuesdays – Which Ways

October 11, 2011 6 comments

Since it’s my day to volunteer at Exceed Enterprises, my time is limited on the web and working on photography.  So I thought I would make Tuesdays a theme day.    For today I decided to feature some of my which ways, meaning roads, rail tracks, steps, paths, trails.  I get the “which way” term, from a Redbubble group I called Cee’s Which Way group which showcases walkways, pathways, stairways, roadways and rail tracks.

The first two photographs are of the Astoria-Megler Bridge.  This bridge (4.1 miles across) is a continuous truss bridge that spans the mouth of the Columbia River between Astoria, Oregon and Point Ellice near Megler, Washington, in the United States. The span was the last segment of U.S. Route 101 between Olympia, Washington and Los Angeles, California. It is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America.

I was in the passenger seat taking photos all the way through.  Driving this part was like being on a roller-coaster!

Mustang Sandy

I’m tired tonight because I worked hard at my volunteer job today.  I also had no idea what to blog about today, since I obviously didn’t take any new photographs.  Anyhow, Sandy, the director of where I volunteer, has a mustang which is only a couple of years old.   So I thought I’d show off some of the Mustangs I’ve photographed over the past couple of years.

The photo above is one I took on my street in Canby, Oregon.  I usually don’t do a lot of selective color, but with the mustang and the sign and leaves all being the same color, I just had to do selective coloring on on this photograph  The photo below is shows the classic lines of Sandy’s mustang.

Here are a couple other captures that I took today.  The garden in the house, some signs down the street from where I live, and I thought my shower head had some interesting shapes.  Hope you enjoy!

Tuesday’s is the day when I volunteer for an company called, Exceed Enterprises.  They work with handicapped adults.  I work with daytime activities.  We do aerobics in the mornings and a little cooking.  Then we have lunch and story time.  There is always breaks in the day where they can do anything they want and I volunteer just to spend time with them.  Most of the people I work with have both physical and mental handicaps.  The people who I work with range in ages from 22 to 60.  They are the most loving and caring people I know.  I walk in and get a lot of hugs and hellos from everyone.   I always come home exhausted mentally and physically, but so uplifted.
