100% pure chocolate!!! I mix this in with Wilton Dark Chocolate.

How many us are still hooked on being drugged by our parents (or anyone else)?

I know at times I still struggle with the being drugged.  The most potent drug my parents instilled in me is that I’m not good at anything or I never stick to anything longer than a year.  Even though I’ve been in a relationship for over 22 years.  When I worked I stayed no less than 4 years, unless I was contracting.  I’ve been in love with photography forever and serious now for five year.  I’ve been practicing some kind of energy medicine for over ten years.  I had my first car for 18 years.  The list is endless.  But yet there are times, I just can’t break that cycle.

I would love to recapture the innocence and wonder of children.

My Parents Drugged Me!

“The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question: “Why didn’t we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?”

“I replied, “I had a drug problem when I was young! I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings and funerals. I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.

“I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults. I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn’t put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.

“I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profanity.

“I was drug out to pull weeds in mom’s garden and flowerbeds and cocklebur’s out of dad’s fields.

“I was drug to the homes of family, friends and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood; and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.

“Those drugs are still in my veins and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, or think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today’s children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.”

Here is some of the History of The Carousel

Salem’s Riverfront Carousel project was inspired by a trip Hazel Patton took in 1996 to visit family in Missoula, Montana. While there she went to see the first old-world style carousel built in the U.S. since the Great Depression. When Hazel rode the carousel, she knew it was more than the music and motion of the ornately carved and hand-painted horses that created magic in Missoula. The real beauty was how the carousel united the community by combining history with the creative talents of Missoula’s citizens. She knew that the citizens of Salem could bring similar magic to the banks of the Willamette River.

There are 28 carousel horses and this is only one of them.  No doubt I’ll be adding more photographs prior to the Adaptive Riding Event in May.  I just posted this series on this one horse is so full of color and fit the Jake’s theme for the week.

Here are my answers:

What’s your least favorite mode of transportation?  I would have to say fly.  I know it is fast, but I like looking at things too much.  I’d go by train if time allows.

Are you a cat, dog, goat or prefer the zoo person?  Actually I am totally nuts when it comes to animals, so I would have to say all of them. 

What really makes my heart sing?  

• Having a camera in my hand in a flower field. 
• Chris and I went to a coffee and tea cafe today and I just loved hearing people having real conversations that just put a lot of love for people in my heart.  
• People and children laughing always makes my heart sing too.
• Watching or being involved with people enjoying being involved in there passion.  It’s so much fun to be around Chris Donner when she is writing.  Their is a lightness and energy around that is so uplifting.

What word or words are fun for you to say?  And yes Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious counts a a fun word!  I’ve always loved these saying the two words -  delicious and infinitesimal
